STRATEGICALLY LOCATED

The Town of Long Harbour Mount Arlington Heights is located on the Western Avalon Peninsula. We are the home of Vale’s new nickel processing plant — the largest and most technologically advanced Hydromet Nickel Processing Plant in the world.

The community is conveniently located just 11 kilometers from the Trans Canada Highway on newly upgraded route 202 access road. We are just over an hours drive from the capital city of St. John’s, an urban center with an active port and international airport. We are also strategically located close to major shipping routes for the Northwestern Atlantic. The deep, southern-facing port is ice-free year-round, with existing large-vessel traffic.

The town is in close proximity to other major industrial projects in the region such as, the Hebron project at Bull Arm, the proposed Husky Energy project at Argentia and the North Atlantic Oil refinery at Come-By-Chance.
