Long Harbour : Where Opportunities Abound
The Town of Long Harbour & Mount Arlington Heights is located in southeast Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Long Harbour is an active industrial hub, servicing the western Avalon Peninsula.
As the selected location for construction of Vale Inco's commercial nickel processing facility, Long Harbour has a bright future as an industrial center.
The Vale Inco project at Long Harbour is under a "Special Project Order". Contractors and subcontractors carrying out work will hire workers who are members of the trades unions. People who are interested in pursuing construction employment should contact the Newfoundland and Labrador Building and Construction Trades Council (www.nlbtc.com).
For information on contract awards for all aspects of the construction program visit the Vale Inco NL website at www.vinl.valeinco.com You will find it under the tab Construction Programs - Procurement - Long Harbour Commercial Plant.
The Long Harbour Development Corporation is not an employment agency and cannot assist with employment opportunities.
The Long Harbour Development Corporation (LHDC) has approximately 35-40 acres of land available for sale adjacent to the Vale construction site. The land is zoned commercial and will be used for the development of a business park. The first five acres of land has been sold and is being prepared for development. The LHDC also has a 16,000 sq.ft. multipurpose building for lease. For more information check out Building for Lease in our Photo Gallery.
